چکیده
Rupture of an amoebic absccss of the liver into the pericardial cavity has been recorded on rare occasions. Two recent cases have been reported in the Indian Medical Gazette of July and August 1946, in which a definite pericarditis had been established by finding the E. histolytica. A similar case has come under my observation recently. The patient was admitted to hospital on 1st August, 1946, while he was on leave. He complained of diarrhoea and fever. He had been treated for dysentery about two months previously and once in 1940, but stated that he was never quite free from symptoms. He was an emaciated individual of 30 years of age. On examination a hard mass was palpated in the epigastric region extending from the right costal margin across the middle line to the left hypochondriac region. The left edge of this mass was sharp and fairly hard. His temperature on admission was 99 ?F., pulse rate
